1959–95

Origin

The origins of care

Even before prevention became a legal obligation, for us it was already a human necessity. In the post-war period, the non-profit associations — Meritxell, Mercè and Montserrat — were founded. Doctors and nurses visited the country’s iconic companies with a single aim: to protect those who were rebuilding the nation. They weren’t clients; they were people who trusted us.

1980s

Founder

The president starts where value is added

Dr Jesús Turró works where the value lies: in the consulting room and within the reality of businesses. He combines hospital and outpatient work with client-centred care, gaining first-hand insight into the real issues. His approach to the profession — presence, rigour and continuity — will shape the style of the entire organisation.

1996

Foundation

The birth of Geseme

Law 31/1995 required a change in the model. What had previously operated as a local authority association was adapted to the new framework for preventive healthcare. This led to the creation of Gestió Serveis Mèdics —Ge·Se·Me—. We were amongst the first to obtain official accreditation in all four preventive disciplines. We are proud of our registration number: 007. We were pioneers at a time when the concept was still in its infancy in Spain.

Culture

The Founder’s DNA: A Culture of High Performance

Dr Jesús Turró did not just bring medical expertise; he brought the values of elite sport. As an Olympic coach, he understood that the success of any team lies in health and discipline. That mindset of striving for excellence and personal commitment, forged at the Olympic Games, now permeates our entire culture: working with the precision of an athlete and the empathy of a doctor.

1998

Innovation

Executive Medical Check-Ups

Before the year 2000, a distinctive line of work was launched: Executive Medical Check-Ups. Streamlined programmes involving specialists and focusing on early detection for senior executives. A comprehensive clinical experience, whilst maintaining the high standards of rigour and personalised care that define us.

2002

Territory

Girona: close to where it matters

We opened our first physical premises in Sarrià de Ter, consolidating our presence in Girona. Being close to our clients’ premises makes all the important aspects easier: site visits, coordination and a rapid response. Girona was the first link in a network with a national reach.

2010

Expansion

The move to Madrid and the new goal

We set up in Madrid and launched a new strategic approach: occupational health is not just about prevention; it is also about supporting complex processes. We began working on the comprehensive management of absenteeism, reducing the costs associated with common illnesses by providing support during periods of temporary incapacity, whilst always striving to ensure the individual’s full recovery.

2013

Re-foundation

A new phase: from a technical organisation to a scalable business

Dani Turró broadens our vision and structures our growth. Whilst Dr Turró established our purpose, Dani takes it to the next level. We have evolved from being an excellent technical organisation into a company ready to scale up in every respect, without losing sight of what has always defined us.

2014-today

A constantly evolving portfolio

We create new services, explore new models and strengthen those areas where we can add the most value. Always on one condition: everything must revolve around occupational health and prevention. The beacon guides the way; the people who work at Geseme identify the pain points and blaze new trails.

2020

Resilience

Resiliencie in times of crisis

For many, the pandemic was a real test. Whilst the world came to a standstill, we opened diagnostic services at weekends and on public holidays and prioritised the mental health of our team and our clients. From that experience, we have retained certain capabilities that we have not relinquished: rapid response times, cross-functional collaboration and a new digital perspective.

2022

Rebranding

A brand worthy of the company

We have updated our corporate identity to better reflect who we are to our clients: a modern, technical and people-focused organisation. The new image brings us closer to the digital world. Our tone is now clear, approachable and discerning. A brand designed so that clients, our team and anyone wishing to work at Geseme can recognise today’s Geseme at a glance.

2026

Strategic integration

Prevent Event becomes part of Geseme

We are taking a decisive step forward in the events sector: Prevent Event is joining our organisation and becoming our specialist brand for occupational health and safety at events. We are maintaining our usual high standards of quality and service, whilst adding further sector-specific expertise, a more specialised team and greater capacity to support productions of any scale.
